About the Chair

On the 2nd of October, 2015 the Agreement on the establishment of the UNESCO Chair on Theory and Technology of Environmental Safety in Water Resources Control at Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin), Russia, was duly signed by Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, France, and Rector of Sibstrin University Professor Yuriy Skolubovich.

THE CHAIR AIMS TO IMPLEMENT ECOLOGICALLY FRIENDLY TECHNOLOGIES TO ADDRESS REGIONAL AND GLOBAL PROBLEMS IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND WATER MANAGEMENT.

The Chair is planning its perspective as the regional national and international research, educational and training centre.

The activities of the Chair   focus on implementing long-term programmes to address regional and global issues of water management complex with the development of innovative technologies to ensure the rational use of water resources and environmental protection.

Research of the Chair aims to create ecologically friendly technologies of sewage and industrial water treatment, zero-energy consuming buildings, 3D modeling of natural processes, such as heat-losses of buildings, ground thermal and low thermal waters as a source of renewable energy.

Our collaboration with other UNESCO Chairs and partnership with public and private sector organizations and foundations will contribute to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
