Speakers and Participants from 9 Countries of the World Discussed Environmental Problems of Urbanized Areas in the English Section in NSUACE (Sibstrin)
On April 20, 2022, the Institute of International Affairs in NSUACE (Sibstrin) held a scientific event «Environmentally Friendly Technologies of Urbanized Territories" English Language Section, as a part of the XV International Scientific Technical Conference "Actual Issues of Architecture and Construction"
It is worth noting that the International English Section is being held for the third time. Its topic is relevant on the agenda of all international organizations and associations (UNESCO, SCO, BRICS, etc.), within the framework of such sustainable development goals as: No. 6 - Clean water and sanitation; No. 11 - Sustainable cities and communities; No. 12 - Responsible consumption and production; No. 17 - Partnership for sustainable development.
Welcoming Speeches to the event’s participants were made by Rector of NSUACE (Sibstrin) Yuri Skolubovich, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the UNESCO Chairs in the Russian Federation Vladimir Egorov, Vice-Rector for International and Regional Cooperation, Additional Professional Education of the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering Vera Galishnikova, Dean of School for Sustainable Development Amrita Vishva Vidyapitam University (India) Manisha Vinodi Ramesh.
Within the framework of the Section, 18 scientists’ reports were presented from 9 countries of the world: Russia, the Republic of Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Serbia, and Turkey. All submitted reports met the goals of sustainable development and were of an applied nature in the field of Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Solid and Municipal Waste Management, Energy Efficiency and Resource Conservation. Three UNESCO Chairs on Water Management topics took part in the scientific event at once: the international chair of NSUACE (Sibstrin) “Theory and Technology of Environmental Safety in Water Resources Control”, as well as related chairs based on the universities of Serbia and India.
Together with NSUACE (Sibstrin), Russia was represented by the leading metropolitan universities, such as Moscow State University, named after M.V. Lomonosov and National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering. Among foreign participants were Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University (India), University of Belgrade (Serbia), Konyan Technical University (Turkey), Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala (Republic of Belarus), Belarusian-Russian University (Republic of Belarus), International University of Innovative Technologies Kyrgyz Republic), Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology (China), International Educational Corporation (Kazakhstan).
Director of the Institute of International Affairs of NSUACE (Sibstrin) Natalya Sineeva believes that such high level scientific event organization will contribute to the strengthening and development of international scientific and educational cooperation with the participation of our university. In particular, NSUACE (Sibstrin) has a chance to get a positive impact for the admission to the University of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the section "Ecology". Another opportunity that opens up with the expansion of international cooperation is participation in international competitions for grant support, for example, in getting scientific grants of the BRICS international organization, since our university has partners - universities of countries (India, China) that are members of this organization.
«All the scientific reports presented at the International Section «Environmentally Friendly Technologies of Urbanized Territories" made a great mutual interest. And although, due to the remote format and a significant number of speakers, it was not possible to fully satisfy the need of colleagues for discussion, I would like to hope that we will be able to continue communicating with most Russian and foreign participants personally this October within the framework of the ECOPOLIS youth school. We really hope that they will be able to give lectures or master classes for active environmentally oriented youth of the Novosibirsk Region and the CIS countries. On behalf of NSUACE (Sibstrin) and the UNESCO Chair, I express my sincere gratitude to all Russian and foreign colleagues, young scientists who have supported and will continue to support our events» commented Natalia Sineeva
