Representatives of Sibstrin were awarded at the international student conference in the Republic of Belarus

We congratulate the students of the Institute of Civil Engineering and the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning of NSUACE (Sibstrin), who spoke successfully at the IX International Student Scientific Conference “Traditions, Modern Issues and Prospects for the Development of Civil Engineering” held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (the Republic of Belarus) under the scientific supervision of the Department of Civil Engineering Mechanics.

The students of NSUACE (Sibstrin) have been participating in the international conferences organized by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (the Republic of Belarus) for several years. This year was not an exception. Our students became the participants of the IX International Student Scientific Conference “Traditions, Modern Issues and Prospects for the Development of Civil Engineering” that was held on May 13-14, 2021.

Our university was one of the co-organizers of this conference together with Y. Kupala State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering,  Bialystok University of Technology, International University of Innovative Technologies, National Research Moscow State University of Civil engineering and University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz.

The conference “Traditions, Modern Issues and Prospects for the Development of Civil Engineering” was held in three sections where more than fifty reports from Russia, the Republic of Belarus and Poland were announced. Based on the results of the meetings of the sections, nine best reports (three from each section) were allocated for participation in the plenary session of the conference.

Four reports of undergraduate students of the Civil Engineering  specialty from NSUACE (Sibstrin) to the section “Modern structures of buildings and constructions, calculation methods” were announced. All these scientific reports were carried out under the guidance of the Department of Construction Mechanics employees.

Two reports were recognized as the best out of four ones. They were presented at the meeting of the conference section, and they were submitted to the plenary session of the IX International Student Scientific Conference “Traditions, Modern Issues and Prospects for the Development of Civil Engineering”. It is the scientific work of Anastasia Zhurbenko, a 3rd-year student on the major of Industrial and Civil Engineering, “Analysis of the stress state of beams models reinforced with carbon plastics” (supervisor: Ph.D. M.V. Tabanyukhova), as well as the report of a 2-nd year students on the major “Structural Engineering” of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning:  Alexandra Shcherbinina and Maria Bobrysheva “Analysis of the stability loss of a shell made of a composite material” (supervisor: Ph.D., doc. L.A. Adegova).

It is worth noting that most of the reports of the section "Modern structures of buildings and constructions, calculation methods” were devoted to composite materials.

There is also the participation of our students in such conferences as RSSC-21 and “The Xth International Scientific Conference ARCHITECTURE AND CIVIL ENGINEERING ArCivE 202” (Varna, Bulgaria).  We wish them success!
