NSUACE (Sibstrin) participates in the discussion of Japanese-Russian cooperation on the North and the Arctic

NSUACE (Sibstrin) continues to participate in international events on the North and the Arctic in the section "Construction technologies and design for cold regions". The event was organized by North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU), Hokkaido University (HaRP platform), and Altai State University.

On September 25, 2020, the Russian-Japanese round table "Partnerships between Russian and Japanese universities, enterprises and local authorities" was held.

On September 30, an international seminar on "cold lands" was held, consisting of 4 sections: northern environment, northern community, socio-economic development of the North and the Arctic and construction technologies and design for cold regions. At the plenary session, presentations were made on the latest developments in Japanese-Russian cooperation on the North and the Arctic, including the launch of the ArCS (Arctic Challenge for Sustainability)-II project in Japan under the leadership of Hokkaido University.

On the behalf of our university the executive director of the RAREC RAAСS at NSUACE (Sibstrin), the RAAСS advisor, the dean of the faculty of engineering and information technologies, professor – Lilia Ilyina took part in the section "Construction technologies and design for cold regions"  with the report "Technology of obtaining a binder and cement conglomerates for cold regions ", as well as the Director of the Institute of International Affairs – Natalya Sineeva, Director of the Center for International Projects of the Institute of International Affair of the NSUACE (Sibstrin), Associate Professor of the Department of Building Materials, Standardization and Certification – Evgenia Lytkina, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages – ​​Nadezhda Morozova.

This video conference allowed Japanese and Russian scientists and their partners to exchange information and proposals on promising joint projects for 2020-2021, discuss possible areas of cooperation, framework, and steps for future joint activities.
