Contribution of NSUACE (Sibstrin) to the development of productive Russian-German cooperation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany within the framework of the Russian-German Year of Scientific and Educational Partnerships (2018-2020),  with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, as well as coordinators of the Year – the National University of Science and Technology "MISIS" (NUST "MISIS") (from the Russian side) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as well as the German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH) in Moscow (from the German parties) in the spring of the ongoing year held an open Russian-German competition "Russia and Germany: scientific and educational bridges". Its goal was to popularize, strengthen and promote the development of existing ones and the formation of new partnerships between representatives of the scientific and educational communities of Russia and Germany.

NSUACE (Sibstrin), as part of the Consortium of Novosibirsk Universities (NSU, NSTU, SSUGT and NSUACE (Sibstrin)), and as a chair university, together with the University of Stuttgart (Germany), presented the project "International interuniversity partnership" related to the academic mobility of students and teachers. In the framework of this teaching and research collaboration, the University of Stuttgart works with a Consortium of four Novosibirsk universities. Despite the narrow professional orientation of each of the Consortium's universities, this interaction provides a unique opportunity for professional cooperation with almost all faculties of the University of Stuttgart. The creation of the CNU made it possible to significantly simplify cooperation and facilitate the application process for both sides.

Our university received words of gratitude from the coordinators of the event (National University of Science and Technology "MISIS", German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH) in Moscow): "Your project makes a significant contribution to the development of productive Russian-German cooperation and demonstrates the diversity of the Russian-German scientific and educational dialogue, which is one of the main goals of the Cross Year".

This gives us new opportunities and new forces to think over a strategy and tactics for participating in similar events next year with more global projects!

The closing ceremony of the events of the Russian-German Year took place on September 15, 2020 in Berlin (Germany) in a remote format. The ceremony also included an online conference "Russian-German Dialogue in Education and Science: Creating the Future Together", dedicated to the prospects of scientific and educational cooperation between Russia and Germany.
