Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin) continues to develop the cooperation with China

On December 4-5, 2019 the delegation of Shenzhen University (PRC) visited NSUACE (Sibstrin). The goal of the visit was to discuss the prospects of cooperation in the field of education, science and technology.

The Chinese delegation included: the President of the University, Professor Qingquan Li, the Deputy Dean of the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Professor Mao Rui, the Deputy Dean of the College of Civil and Transport Engineering, Associate Professor Liang Zou, the Deputy Dean of the College for International Exchange Wei Gu, the Head of the Department of Urban Informatics, Architecture and Urban Planning College, Professor Yang Yue, the Head of the Department of Management Sciences, College management, Professor Niu Ben, the Deputy Dean of Medical School, Professor Xu Xingzhi. The visit was held thank to the long-time partner of NSUACE (Sibstrin), Milan Konecny, the head of the laboratory of geoinformatics and cartography of Masaryk University (Czech Republic).

The Chinese delegation discussed the prospects of cooperation with the Vice-Rector of Studies and Educational Work, Schumkova M.N., the Director of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, Goodkov A.A., the Director of the Institute of International Affairs, Sineeva N.V., the Director of the Institute of Civil Engineering, Kolodev V.A., the Dean of the Engineering and Ecological Department, Kossolapova I.A. The Head of the Chinese delegation, Professor Li Tsingzuan, stated that NSUACE (Sibstrin) had not been chosen by chance. Shenzhen University is interested in exchanging experience and interaction with our university in such areas as construction, architecture, geo-information systems and technologies. The issues of cooperation in the field of education and science, co-operative scientific and practical events, academic mobility of students and teachers, as well as the prospects of language training of Chinese students on the basis of NSUACE (Sibstrin) were discussed at the meeting.

The prospects of scientific cooperation were discussed in details in the framework of the round table where the Dean of the Engineering and Information Technologies Department made a presentation of scientific centers and laboratories, the Deputy Director of the Regional Academic Scientific and Educational Center RAASN L. V. Ilina, The Director of the System and Analytical Center “Stroikonsalting” I.M. Sebelev, the Director of the Siberian Center for Laser Scanning in Civil Engineering, V.A. Seredovich, the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine “University News”, the Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering  Mechanics, V.G. Sebeshev, the Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Urban Economy, D.V. Karelin.

The representatives of Shenzhen University met Chinese and Russian students who study at NSUACE (Sibstrin). The guests showed a presentation about their university and told about the programs they offer to foreign undergraduate and postgraduate students. The delegation of the PRC aroused real interest among the students who actively asked the President of Shenzhen University Li Tsintsyuan questions in Russian and English about the possibilities of academic mobility, the goals of the delegation of the Chinese University in Russia having come to NSUACE (Sibstrin). There were also some “surprises” from the students. The Chinese students wrote a welcome poster in Chinese and the Russian students performed a Russian folk dance as a “welcome postcard” for the Chinese guests.

Besides, with the help of NSUACE (Sibstrin), the delegation of Shenzhen University met the Deputy Mayor of Novosibirsk, the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the City A.V. Condratiev, where they discussed the exchange of experience and possibilities of cooperation in the field of construction between Shenzhen and Novosibirsk.

Following the results of the visit, NSUACE (Sibstrin) and Shenzhen University expressed readiness to continue the cooperation. The parties concluded the memorandum. The parties noted the relevance of the organization of students language training (in Russian and Chinese languages), the exchange programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students, the participation in conferences held at the universities. The main areas of cooperation are architecture and digital construction. It is planned to visit the city delegation, construction organizations and Shenzhen, and Shenzhen University by the representatives of NSUACE (Sibstrin).
