The Second International Summer School "Sustainable Development of Urban Green Infrastructure" took place at the UNESCO Chair of NSUACE (Sibstrin)

From July 2 till July 6, 2018, the Second International summer school with the participation of students and professors from the Republic of Serbia was held  on the basis of NSUACE (Sibstrin).

The theme of the Summer School "Sustainable Development of Urban Green Infrastructure" is of current interest for any city and any agglomeration of the world. The task is to implement new approaches to green infrastructure in urban areas aimed at improving the functioning of ecosystems in megacities, at supporting the development of green economy and sustainable land and water resources management. There are many examples of green infrastructure elements in the countries of the European Union, highlighted in the final report of the EU's 2020 program on "Nature-Based Solutions and Re-Naming Cities" (2015).  Serbian professors Jovan Despotovich and Marco Ivetich , who took part in the work of the summer school, are members of the group of researchers working on this program. They told about their experience within the framework of lectures "Integrated Urban Water Management in the City of the Future".

Professors and researches of our university shared their experience, theoretical and practical knowledge, research results with undergraduates of the UNESCO Chairs of the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and NSUACE (Sibstrin) united by water theme. The following topics were discussed: "Continuous construction using BIM technologies and laser scanning" (Director of the Siberian Laser Scanning Center, Professor of the Department of Engineering Geodesy V. Seredovich, Assistant of the Department of Engineering Geodesy D. Terentyev), "Energy-saving and energy-efficient technologies” (Head of  the Chair of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation, Associate Professor R. Mansurov), "Floods in Russia: origin, classification, assessment of change and risks" (Professor V. Kopylov), "State of hydro-technical structures in Russia. The work of expert centers on HTS declarations examination "(Deputy Head of the Department of Hydro-Technical Construction, Security and Ecology, E. Guselnikova). The Belgrade students took great interest in the lecture delivered  by the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, the Honorary Builder of the Russian Federation V. Ilyichev (Moscow) "Biosphere compatibility: innovation technologies. Cities that develop a human ".

 

Guests from Serbia visited the Chair of the Russian Language. Head of the Chair R. Satretdinova told them about our university and its history, showed them textbooks written by our teachers. The senior teacher A. Abrosimova conducted several Russian language lessons for the students from Serbia. They saw a presentation about Russia, learned about our major cities and Lake Baikal. Students learned about Russian holidays and were treated with Russian cuisine - bread with lard, pancakes, pies and tea. Classes were fun and entertaining.

During the Summer School an excursion to the Novosibirsk  navigation lock was organized for the participants (Deputy Head of the Department of Hydro-Technical Construction, Security and Ecology, E. Guselnikova). They visited the Novosibirsk Zoo named after R. Shilo, the embankment of the Ob River, took part in an exciting bike tour around the Zaeltsovsky Park.

The main organizers, working with the Serbian group, were the Deputy Head of the UNESCO Chair "Theory and Technology of Environmental Safety in Water Resources Control" N. Sineeva, staff members of the Center for International Projects А. Shevchenko and L. Shevchenko, Associate Professor of the Chair of Foreign Languages ​​I. Makarikhina. Undergraduates of the UNESCO Chair of the NSUACE (Sibstrin) A. Vysokikh, A. Dorofeeva, A.  Kolodeznikova, A. Semenova, E. Shpakovich, a student of the Engineering Ecological Faculty  K.  Verigo took an active part in the Summer School activities and rendered great organizational assistance.

The languages of the Summer School were Russian and English. Communication of Russian and Belgrade students took place in English, which enabled them to raise the level of their general cultural competence: to use acquired knowledge of English in practice, to develop creative potential, communication skills.

At the end of the Second  International Summer Ecological School the Serbian participants were awarded certificates of participation confirming their training in the Summer School.
