The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk region told the students about his work
On February 28, 2023, an extended seminar with the participation of Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region Yuri Marchenko was held in the laboratory of the UNESCO Department of NSUACE (Sibstrin) "Environmentally safe technologies of environmental management and water use".
The meeting with the Deputy Minister was attended by students and undergraduates of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, studying in the areas of "Environmental Management and water use" and "Hydraulic Engineering", undergraduates of the UNESCO Department of NSUACE (Sibstrin), representatives of the student eco-club "Kodama", graduate students and teachers of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Safety and Ecology.
Deputy Head of the UNESCO Chair, Associate Professor Natalia Sineeva introduced the speaker Yuri Marchenko, noting that the cooperation of NSUACE (Sibstrin) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk region has been working for a long time. Thanks to this interaction, according to Natalia Valeryevna, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Yuri Marchenko personally supports scientific, educational and volunteer projects of our university, including at the national and international level, and a lot of graduates from NSUACE work in the structure of the Ministry.
Yuri Marchenko is a graduate of NSMU. PhD of Medical Sciences, Honored Ecologist of the Novosibirsk region. He has been working for almost 20 years in the system of state environmental authorities at the federal and regional levels. From 2015 to March 2018, he headed the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Novosibirsk Region. Currently, he is the deputy head of the Regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology.
The meeting was held in a question–and-answer way. Yuri Marchenko presented a report on the topic "The work of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk region: yesterday, today, tomorrow" and answered all the questions that the audience had. He told the students about the history of the world and Russian environmental movement, the activities and tasks of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Novosibirsk region, the implementation of national projects, the main trends and significant achievements over the past year.
In conclusion, Yuri Marchenko added that today young people who want to devote themselves to the environmental protection affair, have great prospects, and called the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region a good launching pad for starting a career of a young specialist and realizing his creative potential.
