Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region told students about his work
On February 28, 2023, an expanded seminar was held in the laboratory of the UNESCO Department of NSUACE (Sibstrin) “Environmentally Friendly Technologies of Environmental Management and Water Consumption” with the participation of Yuri Marchenko, еру Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region.
Students and master’s students of the Faculty of Engineering and Ecology, studying in “Environmental Management and Water Consumption” and “Hydrotechnical Construction”, master’s students of the UNESCO Department of NSUACE (Sibstrin), the representatives of the student eco-club “Kodama”, the graduate students and teachers of the Hydrotechnical Construction Safety and Ecology Department came to the meeting with the Deputy Minister.
The Deputy Head of the UNESCO Department, Associate Professor, Natalya Sineeva introduced the speaker, Yuri Marchenko, and noted that the cooperation between NSUACE (Sibstrin) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region has been going on for a long time. Due to this cooperation the Ministry of Natural Resources and personally Yuri Marchenko supports the scientific, educational and volunteer projects of our university at different levels: all-Russian and international ones. Many Sibstrin graduates work in the structure of the Ministry.
Yuri Marchenko is a graduate of Novosibirsk State Medical University, Candidate of Medical Sciences, and Distinguished Ecologist of the Novosibirsk Region. For the last 20 years he has been working in the system of state environmental bodies of the federal and regional level. From 2015 to March 2018, he headed the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Novosibirsk Region. Currently, he is the Deputy Head of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology.
The meeting was held in the “Question–Answer” format. Yuri Marchenko presented a report on the topic “The work of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region: yesterday, today, tomorrow”, then he answered all the questions raised by the audience. He told students about the history of the world and Russian environmental movement, the directions of activity and tasks of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Novosibirsk Region, the implementation of national projects, the main trends and significant achievements over the past year.
In conclusion, Yuri Marchenko added that today young people who want to devote themselves to the environmental protection have great prospects, and he said that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region is a good launch base for starting a career as a young specialist to realize his creative potential.
