Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil engineering (Sibstrin) hosted the International Scientific and Methodological Seminar “Modern Technologies of Teaching Foreign Languages and Russian as Foreign Languages”
On January 22, 2020, Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil engineering (Sibstrin) hosted the International Scientific and Methodological Seminar “Modern Technologies of Teaching Foreign Languages and Russian as Foreign Languages”. Not only students, but also teachers are fond of studying. The faculty members of the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Russian Language, and instructors of special subjects who will conduct their lectures in English gathered at NSUACE (Sibstrin) to discuss their professional problems, share methods, technologies, and best practices of foreign languages teaching. The International Scientific and Methodological Seminar was held jointly with Pavlodar State University named after S. Toraigyrov (Pavlodar, Kazakhstan). The philologists from NSTU (Novosibirsk State Technical University) and RANEPA (The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration) were also invited.
On January 20, 2020, with the support of the cultural center "SIBERIA-HOKKAIDO", a meeting with the president of the design and construction company "Issunbo" (Sapporo, Japan) Kamiyama Tetsumasa was held at the UNESCO Chair of NSUACE (Sibstrin).
NSUACE (Sibstrin) was represented by Director of the Institute of Construction, Gudkov Vladimir Alekseyevich, Director of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, Alexei Gudkov, professor of the Department of Technology and Organization of Construction Molodin Vladimir Viktorovich, Director of the Center of International Projects, Lytkina Evgenia Vladimirovna. The possibilities of creating educational institutions within the framework of industrial training practice were discussed at the meeting. In this case, we are talking about 4-5th-year students of Construction of Unique Buildings and Structures specialist degree program.
On December 4-5, 2019 the delegation of Shenzhen University (PRC) visited NSUACE (Sibstrin). The goal of the visit was to discuss the prospects of cooperation in the field of education, science and technology. The Chinese delegation included: the President of the University, Professor Qingquan Li, the Deputy Dean of the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Professor Mao Rui, the Deputy Dean of the College of Civil and Transport Engineering, Associate Professor Liang Zou, the Deputy Dean of the College for International Exchange Wei Gu, the Head of the Department of Urban Informatics, Architecture and Urban Planning College, Professor Yang Yue, the Head of the Department of Management Sciences, College management, Professor Niu Ben, the Deputy Dean of Medical School, Professor Xu Xingzhi. The visit was held thank to the long-time partner of NSUACE (Sibstrin), Milan Konecny, the head of the laboratory of geoinformatics and cartography of Masaryk University (Czech Republic).
Students, graduate students and young scientists of NSUACE (Sibstrin) who have gained significant achievements in study, science, creativity and sports answer our questions in a new section of the University official website “5 Questions for the Young Sibstrinist”. This time we publish interview with Anastasia Kirichenko, the 3rd year student at the Institute of Civil Engineering. Anastasia is currently studying in Germany with the framework of European Exchange Erasmus + program. Our student will spend a semester at the University of Stuttgart.
On November 25, 2019, a delegation of the department for cooperation and culture of the French Embassy in Russia paid a working visit to NCUASE (Sibstrin). The delegation included coordinators for higher education, science and innovation Anael Duran and Florian Rastello, assistant director for cultural and language projects, Francois Kossard, and coordinator for higher education in Novosibirsk, Svetlana Shkarina. During the visit, the French delegation held a presentation for students and undergraduates of the university on scholarships of the French government, where they talked about scholarship programs offered by the French Embassy and selection criteria.
On November 14-16, 2019, the delegation of NSUACE (Sibstrin), headed by the rector Yu.L. Skolubovich, participated in the IX International Festival of Eurasian Architectural and Construction and Design Schools, which was held in Uzbekistan at several universities – the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, Samarkand State Architectural and Civil Engineering Institute, and Bukhara Engineering Technological Institute. The university delegation included the vice-rector for academic and educational work, M.N. Shumkova, the Director of the Institute of Construction, V.A. Gvozdev, the Director of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, A.A. Gudkov, and the Director of the Institute of International Affairs, N.V. Sineeva.
On October 15, 2019, the first lecture of autumn online series of lectures took place held by the German specialist in aerodynamics, Dr. Uwe Gaisbauer, University of Stuttgart, Germany. The title of the course is "Applied Aerodynamics" and is read only in English without being translated into Russian. However, the lectures are accompanied by the additional educational material to be used by the participants. The first part of the course is 8 online lectures. They will be read by the German professor from the middle of October to the beginning of December. The last 4 instructor-led lectures and a credit on the course will take place from December 16
Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin) continues to expand cooperation with foreign higher education institutions. The meeting was held on scientific and educational cooperation with Hokkaido University (Sapporo, Japan) in Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin), on September 19, 2019. Yuki Komata, the senior specialist of the international department of Hokkaido University, and Marina Victorovna Lomayeva, the coordinator on cooperation with higher education institutions, authorities and enterprises of the international department of Hokkaido University visited our university for the working meeting.
The activity of scientists, academic staff, and students on the problems of the UNESCO Chair “Theory and Technology of Environmental Safety in Water Resources Control” at NSUACE (Sibstrin) has been given a high rating. As noted in the letter written by Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education, UNESCO (Paris, France), sent to the university on May 29, 2019, good results were achieved by the UNESCO Chair of Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin) during the four-year activity period. Based on this, the agreement on the validity of the UNESCO Chair at NSUACE (Sibstrin) has been extended for 4 years (until October 2023). In March students and teachers of the building materials, standardization and certification department of NSUACE (Sibstrin) had an internship according to the academic mobility program “Quality Management and Standardization” at Kazakh Humanitarian Law Innovative University (KazHLIU) in Semey, Kazakhstan. During the internship, students got acquainted with the issues of international standardization and quality management processes in construction. They visited leading industrial enterprises of Semey, took part in the round table, held at the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Certification.
